"Flowers in Her Hair" Embroidery Kit

Regular price $40.00 Sale

This listing is for an embroidery pattern and kit. This pattern is my most favorite embroidery design! Creative and creating women are the inspiration for this piece. We create art and we create life, and here we see a woman creating beautiful life by blooming flowers from her mind.

The stitches used in this design are easy, but putting them together in this way makes them a bit more difficult, so I would call this an intermediate pattern.  The hardest part may be transferring the pattern and maintaining the shape of the face while stitching.

Your kit includes:
- 15 skiens of DMC embroidery floss
- A piece of grey cotton fabric
- One 9 inch wooden hoop
- 2 needles
- A print out of the design for you to trace (I recommend using a water soluble fabric pen for tracing this design)
- The instructions for stitching the pattern (described below)

The embroidery pattern includes:
- Stitch and Color key
- Suggested DMC embroidery floss colors
- Full color close up photo of stitched pattern
- PDF design sized for a 8 inch or larger hoop ready to print (rescale as needed)

The beginner guide includes:
- A supplies list with suggested products (hoops, needles, fabric, etc) based off of my experience
- Helpful tips and tricks for transferring design, getting started, and finishing your project
- Diagrams of stitches

This document is also available on my website HERE and includes videos for most stitches.

To complete this pattern you will also need:
- Scissors
- a non-permanent fabric marker (such as water soluble)
- A bright window or light board for pattern tracing (more info here)
- You may want to invest in a high quality embroidery hoop if you have trouble maintaining tension with the included hoop.  I bind my hoops with fabric or fabric tape to help, but you may find plastic, metal or high quality wood hoops easier to use.  You can then use the wooden hoop included in the kit for framing your finished work.

Here's a quick tutorial for how to do the woven wheel roses, heavily featured in this pattern:
