Are you bored of stitching hoops? Need a more practical kit? This one is for you! Use your finished bag for groceries, beach goodies, or as your travel embroidery kit!
This simple floral pattern can be worked using a single stitch or use it as an opportunity to practice your entire embroidery repertoire. Keep it simple by stitching only the outlines or take your time exploring different fill options. This pattern is suitable for beginners and make a perfect easy summer project.
Coming in August: I am working on a video stitch-along playing with new (to me) fill stitches for this pattern! I will paste the YouTube url here when the video is uploaded. Note: the four "new" stitches featured in the video (and in the photos above) are not included in the current version of the beginner's stitch guide. You will need to be able to access YouTube to watch video instruction for those four specific stitches.
A print out of the enlarged pattern for you to trace (I cut out the pattern and pinned it to the back side edge of my tote, then held it up to a window and traced the design. The fabric is thin enough for light to show through)
The directions (two files combined into a single PDF) will be available to you for download after your purchase.
The embroidery pattern includes: - Stitch and Color key - Suggested DMC embroidery floss colors - Full color photo of the stitched pattern - Design sized for a 5 inch hoop ready to print (shrink or enlarge to meet your needs!) - A linear version of the design for decorating hems, pillow cases, etc
The beginner guide includes: - A supplies list with suggested products (hoops, needles, fabric, etc) based off of my experience - Helpful tips and tricks for transferring design, getting started, and finishing your project - Diagrams of stitches
This document is also available on my websiteHEREand includes videos for most stitches.
To complete this project you may want to grab the following extras: - other colors of embroidery floss - upgraded embroidery hoop - scissors - thimbles (the fabric is thicker than the usual plain cotton so you may want to protect your fingertips)
If you love the pattern but would like to try something new you can grab the cotton tote kit here.
This pattern is for personal use only. Please do not copy or resell finished product.
